HEMA (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate): This is a monomer commonly used in the formulation of acrylic and gel nail systems. It is known for its adhesive properties that allow the gel to adhere to the natural nail plate. It is also a key component in the polymerisation process that takes place when gel nails are cured under UV or LED light. However, HEMA is also known to be a potential allergen for some people, which can lead to skin sensitivities or allergic reactions.

Bio Sculpture's EVO gel product lines contain HEMA with a lower HEMA content.
It should be noted that correct curing plays an important role here.

DI-HEMA:
Di-HEMA Trimethylhexyl dicarbamate: This is another type of monomer used in the formulation of nail gel products. It has similar functions to HEMA and aids adhesion and polymerisation. However, manufacturers often use it in combination with other monomers.
